Acupressure is an ancient healing practice that targets specific points on the body to promote healing on multiple levels. Similar to acupuncture, acupressure works by activating and clearing blocked "chi" (energy) within the connective tissues, including the meridians and fascia. This method helps restore the natural flow of energy, supporting overall well-being and addressing various physical and emotional issues.
Acupressure is an ancient bodywork practice that targets the meridians and connective tissues through direct touch. Similar to acupuncture, it focuses on specific acu-points located throughout the body. This technique can be seen as an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a sophisticated system that combines precision with flexibility to support your dog's health and well-being on multiple levels.
TCM views the body-mind-spirit as an interconnected whole rather than separate from the external environment. Its approach is both preventative and restorative, aiming to identify and correct imbalances or disharmonies in the body’s energy before they manifest as physical symptoms.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) encompasses a variety of techniques, including exercise, dietary therapy, herbs, and meditation. Acupressure is just one method within this broader system. By working with acu-points, acupressure helps circulate "chi" (energy) throughout the body, enhancing energetic flow, dispersing blockages, and correcting imbalances. This process supports the immune system, strengthens defense mechanisms, and promotes overall well-being on multiple levels.
Acupressure, as a touch technique, stimulates various meridians, facilitating the flow of "chi" to all body organs. Free-flowing "chi" aids in eliminating external pathogens, restoring balance, and improving circulation.
Sessions are generally booked in sets of three and are conducted on a one-to-one basis in our garden therapy room in the TW15 area.
